Two stallions through to third phase

We can look back on a successful second phase of the BWP stallion approvals last week. Two young stallions presented by us were given the green light by the jury and may prove themselves under saddle mid-March.

The first one is Uncle Joe van 't Meulenhof. This bay stallion is a son of the legendary sire (Achill-)Libero H. His mother is at least as legendary. After all, she is none other than Carthina Z (s. Carthago Z), the dam of Emerald and Diamanthina van 't Ruytershof, among others.

Our second asset, Uvex de Muze, is also interestingly bred. He is a son of our own young stallion Special Cera du Maillet, who himself descends from the combination Stakkato x the line of Fein Cera. Uvex's dam is the mare Chantilly de Muze. She combines the genes of Bamako de Muze and the 1.60m mare Farfelu de la Pomme (s. Vigo d'Arsouilles). Farfelu, in turn, is a granddaughter of Qerly Chin.

In addition, sons of I'm Special de Muze, Qartoon de Muze, Bamako de Muze, By Cera d'Ick and Le Blue Diamond van 't Ruytershof were also selected for the third phase.

Stallion competition

Team T, short for our crop of 4-year-old stallions, went to the first leg of the Belgian Stallion Competition. With good results. Tartufo de Muze, Toetankhamon de Muze and True Colors de la Linière realised clear rounds. For Tellini van 't Ruytershof, there were four penalties after an unlucky rail.

Oliva

Meanwhile, Koen Vereecke and Karline are in Oliva, Spain, where they each achieved many clear rounds with, among others, Quickly v/d Kruishoeve, Oilily de Muze, Andy Pur VDM Z and Lector vd Bisschop.

Also in Oliva, Alexa Ferrer jumped to sixth place in the GP2* riding Naiade d'Elsendam Z (s. Nabab de Rêve). Tom Schewe won a 1.40m class on Nestor de Mariposa (s. Elvis Ter Putte). In the same class, Philippe Le Jeune was fourth with Home Made-P.L. (s. Filou de Muze).

Gudrun Patteet won the GP1* on Naturele van het Reigershof (s. I'm Special de Muze). Tom Schewe and Jyrado vh Bovenhoekshof (s. By Cera d'Ick) grabbed place seven, having also previously finished second in a 1.40m class.

Basel

At the World Cup show in Basel, Brooklyn Heights (ex-Jorden van de Kruishoeve, s. Nabab de Rêve) jumped to fifth place in the GP under Denis Lynch. Bingo del Tondou (s. Vigo d'Arsouilles) finished tenth in the World Cup with Pénelope Leprevost.

Wellington

The CSI3* in Wellington, week 1 of the WEF, yielded ninth place in the GP for Karlin van 't Vennehof, a daughter of our brand-new BWP-ambassador Fantomas de Muze, ridden by Lacey Gilbertson. Sarah Scheiring won a 1.50m class in the saddle of Margriet de Mariposa (s. Nabab de Rêve). In the same classes, Gilbertson and Karlin finished in fifth place. There was a fourth place over 1.50m for Hallie Grimes and Malissa de Muze (s. Vigo d'Arsouilles), dam of our 5-year-old Sambucci de Muze. In the 1.40m we recorded another fifth place for Maggie McAlary and Indian Quality Z (s. I'm Special de Muze).

Opglabbeek

Tristan Guisson and Naturelle vh Legitahof Z (s. Nabab de Rêve) won the GP2* in Opglabbeek. Naturelle's grandmother is Narcotique de Muze II. Sanne Thijssen came fourth in the 1.45m class with Hi There (s. Nabab de Rêve).
