We are looking for motivated students to strengthen our team during the reproduction season 2025 ( +-April until +- September). This is an opportunity for veterinary and bio-engineering students to gain hands-on experience in a supervised stud farm environment, leveraging their existing skills in handling horses to learn about the practical aspects of horse breeding and care.
Our team is happy to participate in potential externship assignments: (reproductive efficiency analytics -analyze fertility, conception and foaling rates- , fecal egg count monitoring program – fecal samples from different horsegroups- ,…). The externship period and term can be determined in consulation.
We are a modern family business in Belgium with a nice selection of breeding stallions and with several veterinarians in service to offer all services concerning reproduction to our clients. We also have our own breeding and sport stable.
Vacancy
He/she will gain hands-on experience about the entire reproduction process while assisting with:
- Ultrasound monitoring of the mares
- Artificial insemination with fresh and frozen semen
- Embryo flush and transfer
- Monitoring of the surrogate mares
- EU stallion station : collection and distribution of our stallions semen
- Monitoring pregnant mares and newborn foals
Requirements
You are in a final stage of a veterinary/scientific/biological program
You have hands-on experience with horses and foals
You are passionate about equine reproduction
You speak flawless English (or Dutch)
You are a team player and flexible
Extra
There is an new built apartment available on site as well as means of transport (bike, car).
We don’t expect you to do 24h shifts.
All practical matters are to be defined by mutual agreement and depending on your experience.
