Young talents make us hope for the best in 2021

2020 is almost over, fortunately. It’s safe to say things can only get better in 2021, so let’s have one last good look at the final two weeks of international competition this year. The many good performances in the young horse classes already make us hope for the best in 2021.


We start close to home, in Azelhof. Konak (s. Nabab de Rêve) and Gilles Thomas silvered their good form there with a second place in the GP. Sanne Thijssen and Hi There (s. Nabab de Rêve) also did very well, winning a 1.40m class. Tamara Klop on Happy Handsome (s. Elvis Ter Putte) came third, also over 1.40m. The week before, we also scored a victory in the Azelhof at level 1.40m, this time for Oleksander Prodan and Dakar (s. Nabab de Rêve). In the same class, Beijing Z (s. Bamako de Muze) and Frederic Vernaet finished in third place.

Furthermore, some very good performance were noted among the young horses. In the competition for 5- and 6-year-olds, the honours go to Emir du Coeur des Collines Z (s. Elvis Ter Putte, Catherine van Roosbroeck), O'Neil de Yeselo (s. Elvis Ter Putte, Johan Wenselaers), Full Option du Borget (s. Elvis Ter Putte, Johan Wenselaers). Vigo d'Arsouilles, Agustin Covarrubias), Nouvelle Cera du Maillet Z (s. Nabab de Rêve, Laurent Thirion), Scarlina de Tiji (s. Scendro, Niels Bruynseels), Pipa de Yeselo (s. Bamako de Muze, Johan Wenselaers), O'Neill van 't Eigenlo (s. Vigo d'Arsouilles, Nick Vrins), Olala (s. Scendro, Maud Pietroniro), Positif van 't Paradijs (s. Bamako de Muze, Astrid Rooms), Orage Optimus (s. Scendro, Filippo Tabarini), Oakley d'Axmar (s. Bamako de Muze, Thomas Van Minnebruggen) and Opportunity Vitseroel (s. Elvis Ter Putte, Christophe Vanderhasselt).

Bamalou de l'Ecuyer (s. Bamako de Muze, Valentin Marcotte), Nikita van de Koekelberg (s. Filou de Muze, Steven Vermeir), No Limit vh Legita Hof Z (s. Nabab de Rêve, Aurelia Guisson), Negredo de Muze (s. Elvis Ter Putte, Jack Whitaker) and Nirvana de la Pomme (s. Elvis Ter Putte, Joris Vergauwen) did the same in the classes the 7-year-olds.


In Sentower Park, there was one last international competition in 2020 as well. Frank Schuttert and Kinky Boy of the Gildenhof (s. Nabab de Rêve) took 8h place in the GP2*.

In the classes for young horses, the highlights were Daisy McKinlay with King Kong BH (s. Vigo d'Arsouilles) in the 5-year-olds competition. Melissa Zerbini with Ohla Pika (s. Nabab de Rêve), Nick Vrins with O'Neill van 't Eigenlo (s. Vigo d'Arsouilles) and Pieter Kenis with S'Oakley Z (s. Scendro) performed well in the classes for 6-year-olds. In the classes for 7- and 8-year-olds, we noted down clear rounds for Mona de Regor (s. I'm Special de Muze, Benedikte Serigstad Endresen), Mega Special DC (s. I'm Special de Muze, Gilles Nuytens), Elnica CL Z (s. Elvis Ter Putte, Benedikte Serigstad Endresen), Narco S (s. Nabab de Rêve, Marinus Den Doelder), Nikias Ligie V.V. (s. I'm Special de Muze, Pieter Devos), Milow-Prova (s. Nabab de Rêve, Simon Prouvé), Nike Prova (s. Elvis Ter Putte, Tim Prouvé), Niara (s. Elvis Ter Putte, Marit Haarr Skollerud) and Nasty Jack van d'Abdijhoeve (s. Elvis Ter Putte, Wouter Devos).

Gorla Minore

Among the young horses in Gorla Minore, it were the 6-year-old Jotage B (s. Denzel van 't Meulenhof, Giulia Martinengo Marquet) and the 7-year-old Ibiza Z (s. I'm Special de Muze, Leon Thijssen) who made themselves noticed.


In Polish Sopot, Aleksandra Dabkowska jumped into the spotlight riding Primus van 't Vianahof (s. Vigo d'Arsouilles) in the classes for 5- and 6-year-olds. Elizabeth Z (s. Elvis Ter Putte) and Aleksandra Lusina-Golas also jumped a few clear rounds.

Sixth palce in the GP4* of Wellington went to Jessica Springsteen and Don Juan van de Donkhoeve (s. Bamako de Muze).

At the 5-star event in Riyadh, the 8-year-old Hannah-Gold (s. Nabab de Rêve) jumped to third place in a 1.40m class with Mohd Osama El Borai in the saddle.

Finally, in São Paulo, there was a fifth place for Tomas Podolsy Rossilho at WFH Elodice van het Hellehof (s. Querlybet Hero).
