Sadness

Last week was one with highs and lows. First and foremost, there was some sad news. Only shortly after we have said goodbye to Vigo d’Arsouilles, the news reached us that our fourteen-year-old stallion Filou de Muze sadly passed away due to a tragic accident and that Narcotique II de Muze (Darco x Qerly Chin), mother to Querlybet Hero, Boyante de Muze, Exellentia de Muze and many others, equally deceased last week.

Joy

Luckily, there was also a lot of good news to mention. Niels Bruynseels and Gancia de Muze (s. Malito de Rêve) won the Rolex GP at the Brussels Stephex Masters once more. Hello Zachary (ex-Markies van de Donkhoeve, s. Elvis Ter Putte) and Scott Brash in turn, became fifth in a class for seven- and eight-year-olds. Also in Wolvertem, we noted a victory for Daniel Deusser and Killer Queen VDM in a 1.55m-class. Killer Queen is by Eldorado van de Zeshoek out of Derly Chin de Muze and then it goes Werly Chin de Muze and Qerly Chin.

From the same damline, there was also Kirschwasser SCF (s. Amaretto d’Arco), who impressed last week in American Bridgehampton. The stallion won a 1.60m-class over there and finished second over 1.45m as well, ridden by Shane Sweetnam. Kirschwasser is by Werly Chin de Muze.

A bit further down the road from Wolvertem, in Opglabbeek, there was a victory for Tim Prouvé on Nike Prova (s. Elvis Ter Putte) in a class for five- and six-year-olds. Loic Cannaert and E-Risingson Z (s. Elvis Ter Putte) also impressed in that age category, as did Brieanne Dofort on Nanou van het Dennehof (s. Elvis Ter Putte).

Freud del Cabanon (s. Filou de Muze) flashed to eighth place in the GP3* of Valence with Michael Whitaker. At the four-star-level, Shane Breen and Golden Hawk (ex-Figo de Muze, s. Vigo d’Arsouilles) were victorious in a 1.50m-class.

Werner Muff and Jolie van het Molenhof (s. Nabab de Rêve) proved to be in great shape in Swiss Humlikon, where they grabbed a victory and a second place in two 1.50m-classes. In the GP1* of Humlikon, Simone Buhofer and Flying Girl (s. Querlybet Hero) flew to an excellent ninth place.

Finally, in Spanish Gijon, Antonio Maria Garofalo was part of the Italian team that won the Nations Cup, riding Conquestador (s. Nabab de Rêve).

Foal championship

We end this week’s overview at the regional foal championships of Sint-Niklaas, where Taifun van ‘t Reebroeck (s. Scendro, b: Stal ‘t Reebroeck) finished second in the A series for colts. Titus van het Bekelhof (s. Cuba Libre de Muze Z, b: Tom Van Hecke) was placed fifth. Progeny of Bamako de Muze, Malito de Rêve, Eames de Hus and Vigo d’Arsouilles) were equally placed for the finals of this weekend.
